Sony hasn't ported all games from the PS3 library to PC. Thanks to tech enthusiasts, players have the opportunity to run them in a different way.

Recently, the developers of the RPCS3 emulator, which is used to run PlayStation 3 games on PC, announced a breakthrough:

Elad discovered new usage patterns of the [PS3 CPU block] SPU and implemented methods for generating more optimized code for PC — this benefited all emulated games!

The creators of RPCS3 compared the performance in Twisted Metal as an example. The increase averages 5-7% and may seem insignificant, but we are talking about one of the most demanding SPU games on the console. Therefore, this result is an important milestone in the development of the PlayStation 3 game emulator.
