Anxious images of arachnids can be replaced with neutral ones.
The creators of the space global strategy Stellaris have presented a diary dedicated to updating game systems.
Version 4.3.3 includes various technical improvements, improved AI, balance fixes, as well as a mode for arachnophobes (people who are afraid of spiders) — the developers will replace portraits.
The authors of Stellaris explained that they "very scientifically classified" some portraits as "spider-like".
An alternative replacement portrait is set for each of them:
Arachnophobia mode simply changes these portraits on your client. In multiplayer, everyone else will still see "spider" portraits (unless they have enabled this setting themselves), and in-game events will be able to "look behind your outer shell and work as they should, based on what kind of spider you are inside.
Technically, modders can make a reverse mode — replace all portraits with spiders.
