Embark Studios explained the decision:
Many of you have noted that collecting the missing materials for crafting required more effort than it should. You already knew where to get what you needed – recycle items or buy from Celeste, but switching between multiple screens was a problem. This created inconvenience and prevented you from enjoying the game.
The system uses only available resources, reducing the time spent navigating menus and inventory. The studio admits that this "doesn't fix everything" but is "already thinking about the next steps."
Our team will continue to systematically eliminate such problems, and you will soon see more changes.
The developers also announced work on "several maps" of different scales in 2026.
