Bethesda has confirmed that plans to support Starfield will continue even after the release on PS5.
In an interview, chief creative producer Tim Lamb directly stated:
There's a lot more to come in Starfield.
How much exactly is not specified.
I won't go into details, but when we launch a game, our strategy always involves long-term support. The form in which this will manifest itself is open to interpretation. There are things that still inspire the team – the lore and locations that we want to explore; that's what we'll be doing.
A separate Bethesda team has been improving and supplementing Starfield for almost three years. During this time, the game received a major DLC, several significant updates, and a second expansion, along with one of the most extensive patches.
Studio art director Istvan Pely added:
We've discussed so many different DLCs that we want to make that the list is insane. We plan to continue updates – small, large, or medium... This is not the end of Starfield.
The release on PS5 will likely give the studio even more incentive to work on the project, especially if sales on the platform are successful.
