Bethesda offered several modes: on the standard PS5 – Quality and Performance, on the PS5 Pro, Enhanced was added, promising the best combination of graphics and performance.
Enhanced on PS5 Pro works in 2160p with PSSR, Quality – 1440p, Performance – 1080p. The difference between Enhanced and Quality is noticeable, but not revolutionary: shadows and the ambient occlusion effect are slightly improved. The main problem is performance. Starfield is demanding on the CPU, and stable 60 FPS is not always maintained in places with many objects and NPCs.
PS5 Pro shows better results: with VRR enabled and FPS unlocked in some locations, it reaches about 90 FPS, the standard PS5 – up to 70 FPS. The Pro also has more freedom settings: you can disable V-Sync and unlock FPS in all modes, on a regular PS5 – only in Performance Mode.
