Chief Creative Producer Tim Lamb stated that the studio's goal is to make the game a "timeless classic" that players will return to even a decade later. The studio hopes that constant updates will help put the project on par with Skyrim and Oblivion.

A key step will be the major Free Lanes update – the largest package of changes aimed at fixing the main problems that players have complained about since 2023.

The main innovation is free travel between planets without constant loading screens and fast travel. This should significantly enhance immersion and encourage exploration, adding new points of interest and random events.

Bethesda sees Starfield not only as a standalone game, but also as a foundation for future projects. Tim Lamb emphasized that the technologies and experience gained in the development process will be used further.

The team is not going to start from scratch, but plans to build on the accumulated "experience baggage." According to the producer, spaceships will not appear in The Elder Scrolls, but the mechanics will influence future games.

The ultimate success depends on the pace of updates and the "fix to result" strategy.
