Only Every Fourth Person Is Ready to Enable DLSS 5 - Gamers Are Against NVIDIA's Technology

The launch of DLSS 5 was supposed to be an important milestone for PC gaming, but so far the technology is causing controversy.

A recent survey among PC Gamer readers shows that NVIDIA faces a difficult task – 71% of respondents said they are not going to enable this feature. Sentiments range from skepticism to harsh criticism, and negativity clearly prevails.

The reason is not only the image quality. 37% of gamers said they will not launch DLSS 5 for ethical reasons, regardless of the result. For some players, the line between classic rendering and AI image generation has been crossed. Some industry representatives, including the head of New Blood, see this as a reason to refuse cooperation with the "green team."

However, not everyone is so categorical. About 10% support the new technology and are waiting for its release in the fall. Another 9% allow its use in individual games, especially with an emphasis on photorealism, like the future FC26. Another 10% are waiting for proof that DLSS 5 will not become a "heavy filter" that unifies the style of games.

Now NVIDIA has to prove that DLSS 5 is not just a controversial frame generation algorithm.
