Physint, the first game officially supported by PlayStation for the next generation of consoles, has received new development details. Hideo Kojima's project is designed for the PlayStation 6 era, but work on it is already actively underway.
The game was announced in 2024 as a new brand from Hideo Kojima. At the same time, he was completing Death Stranding 2: On The Beach and developing OD for Microsoft, but the project for Sony was not postponed.
According to Mp1st, Physint is gradually entering a new stage of production. The game is described as Kojima's return to the stealth-action genre and spy stories in the spirit of Metal Gear Solid. The project will be as cinematic as possible, with the participation of actors from Hollywood. Among those confirmed are Charlie Fraser, Don Lee, and Minami Hamabe, and casting is ongoing.
New casting data reveals the project's internal name – Shimmer. Marie Ueda, who previously worked on Death Stranding 2, is responsible for casting actors.
Motion capture and acting are scheduled to start in the coming months, which indicates that the project is entering an active phase of production.
Among the descriptions of the roles are passengers of a hijacked bus (mothers with children, teenagers, adults) and an antagonist with a German accent. The character is described as "Mads Mikkelsen in Hannibal, but with even more personality – a calm, cold, and psychopathic killer.
It is important to note that Physint is in the early stages of development. Some scenes may be used for test builds or a future trailer. Kojima himself previously said that the project may take 5–6 years to develop.
