After the release of the Shinobi: Art of Vengeance, Sega Villains Stage DLC, Lizardcube's work on the project is complete, but the publisher is not going to break off the partnership.

In an interview with IGN, Sega representative Takashi Terada stated:

Since we have no further plans for DLC, “Sega Villains Stage” will be the end of this chapter. Personally, I would like to do many different things with Lizardcube and I hope you look forward to what the future brings.

Sega notes that it wants to continue joint projects with the studio in the future. At the same time, it is not yet known what exactly is being worked on – it could be either a new part of Shinobi, or the return of other franchises of the company.

Lizardcube has already proven its competence in working with classic series, so fans are discussing various options – from sequels to Streets of Rage and Wonder Boy to the possible return of Alex Kidd.

While Sega does not disclose details, one thing is clear - the collaboration will continue.
