Developers noticed a suspicious resemblance in mechanics and design.
Recently, miHoYo (HoYoverse) was questioned by the developers of the indie game Map Map - A Game About Maps. They believe that the creators of Genshin Impact decided to copy their project for one of the events.
A video comparison titled "Our cartography game became so popular that the authors of Genshin Impact decided to copy it right before our release" went viral in the community:
Map Map - A Game About Maps and the Genshin Impact event have the same logic: the player needs to mark the desired location on the map, trying to hit the correct point. The interface is also very similar.
The Map Map developers implemented their ideas a long time ago, the demo version was presented last year.
The creators of Genshin Impact have not yet responded to the accusations of copying mechanics.
