Asobo and Microsoft announced during a stream that the launch of SU5 is scheduled for next week. The update is currently in beta testing, in which players are also participating.
The main thing for PS5 owners is PlayStation VR2 support. It will appear in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 along with the release of SU5. The second important change is an expanded built-in store. PS5 players will finally get more equipment from third-party developers, and not just basic aircraft from Asobo.
However, this will not be a store at the level of the Xbox version. There will be fewer planes and helicopters due to Sony's policy, which is stricter about third-party content. As Jorg Neumann explained, new cars will appear with a delay due to the need for certification.
Sim Update 5 will also bring optimization and bug fixes for all platforms. At the same time, it became known that the next World Update 21 will be dedicated to Australia.
