Ubisoft's reimagining of the pirate adventure will only be released on the current generation of consoles.
Insider Tom Henderson has shared fresh details about the upcoming remake of Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, subtitled Resynced. According to him, journalists were pleasantly impressed by the recent 30-minute closed presentation, and the official trailer is scheduled to be shown on April 23, around 19:00 Moscow time.
The insider's leaks also contain a lot of new information about the updated version of the famous pirate action game:
- The developers are betting on the current generation of consoles, using the latest version of the Anvil engine, which powers modern parts of the franchise.
- The game is being created almost from scratch and is planned to be sold at full cost without any discounts — a full release for $70.
- New storylines, chapters (including the backstory of Edward Kenway), quests, officers and crew members will appear in Resynced.
- Updated naval combat mechanics may be introduced into the game. Segments with underwater swimming have also been significantly improved.
- RPG systems will not be introduced into the game — Black Flag will remain a pure action game.
- Players will have the opportunity to have a companion on their ship — a cat or a monkey.
In addition, according to rumors, segments in modern times with the "Animus" may be cut from the game so as not to distract players from the pirate adventures of Edward Kenway. The embargo on the publication of previews from the press will be lifted 15 minutes after the expected premiere of the trailer on April 23.
The game is expected to be released in the summer, presumably on July 9, 2026.
