On the Insider Gaming Podcast, Tom Henderson and Mike Straw said that the Splinter Cell remake is now allegedly planned for 2027. The project was originally announced in 2021 and has since gone through leadership changes and restructuring within the studio.
The situation with Far Cry 7, according to Henderson, is even more complicated — the project is "going through hell and back right now." Earlier, Ubisoft head Yves Guillemot spoke about two promising games in the series, but no details have been provided.
According to rumors, Far Cry 7, codenamed Blackbird, tells the story of a hero who must save family members within a limited time — 24 hours. A second project, called Maverick, is described as an extraction shooter set in Alaska.
It is also reported that both games will receive reworked inventory, loot, and movement systems. But based on current information, a release before 2027 should not be expected.
