Charlie Cox, known for his role as Daredevil, received high praise for his portrayal of Gustave in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. At the same time, the actor himself admits he is modest about it and barely remembers the recording process, calling it brief.
Despite this, Cox showed interest in the game and even started playing it. However, he is not sure he would want to play Gustave again in a possible screen adaptation. In an interview, he offered his own casting choice:
My involvement in this, however minor it may originally have been and however much it has now expanded, was nothing but an incredibly humble and pleasant experience. So yes, absolutely, yes. I thought that if they make a film, they should cast Robert Pattinson in the role, and I would voice the character. Because then they would have an almost exact Gustave from the game.
Cox believes that Robert Pattinson bears a strong visual resemblance to the character. At the same time, he proposed an unusual option: combining the actor's performance with his own voice acting.
