The Xbox ecosystem is undergoing serious changes under the leadership of new head Asha Sharma. One of the key innovations is the simplification of the Microsoft Rewards system.
In the near future, users will be able to spend accumulated points directly during purchases on the console, without the need to exchange them for codes through third-party applications.
The new feature will allow points to be selected as a payment method in the Xbox Marketplace — just like a bank card or account balance. At the same time, points cannot be used to pay for a subscription, but their integration into the purchasing process should noticeably simplify the use of the service.
The program becomes especially beneficial for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Premium owners will receive double points, and Ultimate users will get a fourfold bonus for games and purchases.
Microsoft is also promoting the Xbox Mastercard, which automatically raises the account level and speeds up bonus accumulation. For every 5,000 points, users can get a $5 gift card.
