The creators of Escape from Tarkov have presented update 1.0.4.5, which includes new content and optimization improvements for some locations.
Some changes and improvements:
- A quest progression protection system has been implemented in local raids of the PVE Zone in case of unexpected client shutdowns, in order to avoid situations where progression becomes blocked. Now, if the game closes abruptly, quest progress will roll back to the state it was in at the moment the raid started;
- The display of KD in character statistics has been changed: now the statistics will account only for player kills.
- An iteration of optimization for environmental objects and the geometry of the Streets of Tarkov location has been implemented to improve the location's performance;
- An updated player culling system has been implemented on the Lighthouse, Shoreline, Woods, and Epicenter locations;
- The architecture of the systems involved after the end of a raid has been reworked in order to further reduce the time required to exit a raid and get to the menu;
- A number of changes have been made to the animation system, as well as to the sound engine, in order to optimize PC resource consumption;
- The FPS limit in the menu has been increased, and the ability to change the value in the game settings has been added;
- Improvements aimed at optimizing the operation of out-of-raid screens have been implemented;
- New character customization items, equipment, and weapons from Season 2 of EFT:Arena have been added at the trader Ref;
- The cause of error 228 appearing during dialogues with traders has been fixed; in some cases it had led to the inability to continue storyline quests;
The Escape from Tarkov developers also revised the base characteristics of many weapon models, including the entire AK, AKM, and AK-100 series family.
