In April, PC gamers noticed another update for Red Dead Redemption 2. No notifications about the patch appeared on the developers' website or in the game's community on Steam.
Players began sharing their concerns on the forum. Some decided to temporarily put the game aside and wait for feedback from other users to make sure that RDR 2 is working properly.
Soon, players who have other Rockstar Games projects installed on their PCs, such as Grand Theft Auto V and Max Payne 3, joined the discussion. They confirmed that an identical update by weight had also arrived for their games, i.e. in this case a technical update for the studio's launcher was released.
The concerns of some PC gamers are understandable. A few weeks ago, after a similar "technical update" for the launcher, the achievements system broke. Users began receiving Steam "achievements" after launching Red Dead Redemption 2 — they were awarded randomly.
Players then suggested that something had broken on the Rockstar Games side during the update installation, and as a result profile statistics were tracked incorrectly.
