’83 is a shooter focused on gameplay in the spirit of Hell Let Loose: with a noticeable degree of realism, but without full simulation like in ARMA 3. Multiplayer battles have been made fast-paced and dynamic—one session lasts 30–40 minutes, while preserving tactical depth and realistic gunplay. The main mode is 40 vs. 40 battles.
Blue Dot Game studio emphasizes that the project is directly inspired by Rising Storm 2 Vietnam and is being created with the participation of the original developers. The setting has been moved to the Cold War era—players fight on the side of NATO and the Warsaw Pact countries.
The developers note that the game draws on the experience of the team that worked on the Rising Storm and Red Orchestra series. The project places emphasis on large-scale battles involving infantry, vehicles, and tanks, team coordination and squad command, as well as authentic weapons and equipment of the era.
