Joel's voice from The Last of Us has taken up game development

Troy Baker, the actor whose voice and face are familiar from the biggest hits of recent years, from The Last of Us to Death Stranding and the new Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, has announced a new stage in his career.

He worked alongside figures such as Hideo Kojima, Neil Druckmann, and Todd Howard, learning from their experience. Now the actor intends to move into development and open his own studio.

The main motivation is the desire to tell his own stories rather than be part of other people's projects. According to him, work at different studios provided experience of both successful and unsuccessful decisions.

Baker plans to assemble a team built on trust and criticism of ideas. Instead of imposing decisions, he wants to ask: "Here is my idea, how can you improve it?".

The actor emphasized that he will not rush the project. He noted that many colleagues entered the business too abruptly, which ended in failure, and he intends to avoid that by focusing on the foundation.
