Players have long known about the development of a new game in the Mass Effect franchise, but since last N7 Day, when several concept artworks were published, the community has not been pleased with any additional promotional materials.
Players started to have questions, and recently the game director of Mass Effect and BioWare executive producer Michael Gamble commented on the lack of news. While speaking with one of the fans on a social network, he stated:
Just busy working. We do not really have much time for various teasers.
The creators of Grand Theft Auto VI are in a similar situation right now, with its release expected in November 2026. Gamers also faced such a "lack of news" while waiting for GTA V, and back then the developers explained their "silence" like this:
We have often taken long breaks between publishing materials about previous games and will continue to do so in the future. We are sorry if this causes you irritation, but please understand: we are not doing this because we supposedly "do not care about the fans," or "we do not respect the fans," or "we hate GTA fans" — quite the opposite! We do this because we want to publish only fully reliable information, and also keep a lot back for the release itself, so that surprises await you when you play
