In April, Sunnyside Games and Dear Villagers began giving away Nocturnal for free on Steam.
It is an action game with platforming elements in which players take on the role of Ardeshir, a soldier returning to his homeland, Nahran, after many years away.
A mysterious Mist appears on the island, plunging it into chaos. The hero must take up his blazing sword and use his abilities to unravel the secrets of the Mist and free his homeland.
The creators of Nocturnal were inspired by the original Prince of Persia, as well as Sands of Time.
The developers addressed the community and clarified that they are giving away the full version of the game, while also reminding players about the upcoming sequel Nocturnal 2:
If you have long wanted to explore the island of Nahran and uncover its secrets, now is the perfect time! An important note: this giveaway lets you keep the game forever — it will remain in your library after the promotion ends (this is not a free trial version). The Nocturnal page on Steam is available at the following link. The giveaway will run until April 26. Premium add-ons are also available for the game — an art book and soundtrack, and the developers have not set a discount on them.
