Conan Exiles survival game will be moved to Unreal Engine 5 - first graphics comparison

The graphics will improve, and two large regions will be merged into one game world.

The developers of the survival game Conan Exiles have announced a major update. Eight years after release, studio Funcom has decided to move the game to the modern Unreal Engine 5.

According to the developers, this update will breathe new life into the harsh world of Conan, offering "a deeper level of immersion for both newcomers and long-time veterans" — for the first time, players will be able to move freely between the Exiled Lands and Isle of Siptah regions:

These two regions are now merged into one world, allowing players to explore both regions without needing to choose one of them at the start of the game. In multiplayer, any server can now support both maps simultaneously, significantly expanding the game world for owners of the Isle of Siptah expansion. In addition to the visual upgrade and unified world, the update also adds the ability to have multiple characters on one account and a redesigned user interface.

The release of the Conan Exiles Enhanced update is scheduled for May 5, 2026. It will be available free of charge to all players, and it will be possible to transfer old saves from the Unreal Engine 4 version to the new one.
