Frontier Developments needs additional time to refine the major update. Content related to infantry combat will appear in the game only in June.
The Operations update is meant to become a turning point for out-of-ship combat in Elite Dangerous: Odyssey, with new scenarios and expanded co-op capabilities. Frontier hopes that the update will relaunch the "guns-in-hand" firefight system, which looked weak in Odyssey and failed to gain recognition from players.
The developers apologized for yet another delay. As compensation, a new spaceship will appear in the game for free on April 28. Normally, such vessels are first released in "early access" and sold for ARX, but this time the release will be free. The Lynx Highliner is a mid-class ship from Zorgon Peterson designed for passenger transport (up to 225 people).
