She is a talented but "cursed" Operant Bureau agent who is brought back into service for an almost suicidal mission. Her task is to find and rebuild the old espionage network Whole Sick Crew, which was destroyed five years ago.
The team lineup includes various characters with troubled pasts. Among them are Karolina, a young specialist in "shadow arts" involved in dream experiments, and Ramses, an expert in electronic surveillance and the heroine's former close companion.
The group also includes Tempo, an influential player in Portofiro's underworld, the constantly drunk investigator Vespar, Esti — a seasoned agent once abandoned by Cascade herself, and Holocene — a cryptographer obsessed with conspiracy theories, including the idea of "cats controlling global intelligence".
A key part of Zero Parades: For Dead Spies is not only gadgets, but also the relationships between the characters. The player will have to rebuild trust and persuade former allies to work together again.
The developers are emphasizing the story and posing the question: "can you trust someone whom you once effectively doomed to death?"
