In March of this year, a player going by the nickname DJLoudestNoises introduced his girlfriend to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. She really liked Bethesda's project, but she used the save system in a rather specific way.

Recently, she told DJLoudestNoises that the system no longer allowed her to create new saves. When he went to investigate, he discovered that his girlfriend had filled the remaining 40 GB on the SSD with numerous Skyrim save files:

I just deleted a ****** absolutely enormous number of her early saves, and when I emptied the Recycle Bin, 39.8 GB was freed up. Tens of thousands of files. She literally saved every time she fought an enemy or went through a door, because once she failed to save after fighting the giant spider in Bleak Falls Barrow, and then had to replay everything after a draugr killed her. The result was constant, almost compulsive saving throughout the entire game. 40 GB. Good Lord.

All of this came to light while exploring Blackreach, a very confusing location. The girl did not understand why she kept losing crimson Nirnroots every time she loaded a save, and did not even realize that she was walking through the same places over and over again.

I used to think I was a fan of quick saves, but now I feel like an absolute hardcore player.

One of the participants in the discussion joked that DJLoudestNoises should marry her, and he replied, "Sounds like a plan".
