Blizzard recently revealed new features for the Lord of Hatred expansion for Diablo IV. Players will have the opportunity to obtain the legendary Horadric Cube during the campaign.
Once discovered, this artifact will be available in Themis. It can be used for transmuting, modifying, and crafting gear, consumables, as well as items for talismans and inlays:
Most Horadric Cube recipes use new crafting materials obtained from the following sources: special monsters, cube trophies in war plans, Underworld City offerings, and whisper chests.
Developer Zaven Haroutunian said that items cluttering the inventory will soon get a "second life" thanks to the Horadric Cube: "I think players will shock us with what they do [with the cube]."
Zaven also noted that a useless item was added to the DLC – this was a conscious decision by the Diablo IV team:
I'll tell you this: there's at least one item in Lord of Hatred that we intentionally added that is essentially useless because we know it will be a target for the cube.

The release of the Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred expansion is scheduled for April 27, 2026. Developers will present not only a new region, "ancient Skovos," and story content, but also a couple of new classes: Paladin and Warlock.
