Recently, the YouTube channel "PRO Hi-Tech" published a recording of testing the Russian "Irtysh" processor. They decided to test the CPU in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
The "Irtysh" worked in conjunction with a Radeon RX 9060 XT graphics card, and on this configuration, CD Projekt RED's game was launched through the Proton compatibility layer.
At "low" graphics settings in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, it was possible to get 25 to 38 FPS, while at "ultra" settings, the game ran at 22-32 FPS. Sid Meier’s Civilization VI was also playable.
The Russian "Irtysh" processor has Chinese roots. The CPU is based on the "LoongArch" architecture. It was created by Loongson Technology, but "Tramplin Electronics" – the developer of "Irtysh" – has the ability to independently develop this architecture under license.
CNews reported that "Tramplin Electronics" will invest 1.3 billion rubles in the development of the processor. However, journalists have not yet been able to get answers to questions about what the investments are planned to be spent on and for what period they are intended.
Earlier, the YouTube channel "Elbrus PC Test (Play)" tested another Russian processor, "Elbrus-8SV," in the popular sandbox game Minecraft.
