In a new video, lead designer Graham McKellan noted:
Sometimes parts of the game will push you towards one of the ways to counter enemies.
Head of Quality Assurance Linda Stenbeck added:
We have different ways of fighting – from melee weapons to firearms and distractions.
In certain situations, the game sets the direction, but overall the choice remains with the player.
If you engage in close combat, it feels like a "real fight," says McKellan – this chaotic nature is what he likes most about it.
The game will be released later this year on PS5 and PC, with no exact date yet. Annapurna Interactive promises a "full-fledged, high-quality game" and calls the project one of the largest in its portfolio.
The developers are also preparing the first full-fledged first-person game in the series – this will expand the possibilities for combat and puzzles.
