1C Game Studios continues to talk about "Korea. Il-2 Game Series". Recently, the developers presented a diary dedicated to the creation of aircraft sights.
They managed to get access to a working MiG-15 ASP-3 sight, which had an incandescent lamp from the 1950s that was still working. The data obtained helped with the elaboration of the sight:
Each reference was adjusted in terms of color reproduction and brightness to match as closely as possible what a person sees with their own eyes. For example, if you overdo it a little with the exposure, the camera will have excessive highlights that are not actually visible at such a sight brightness. In addition, these references show the smallest irregularities, slight defects, small reflections, color differences, and much more that makes the sight look real. We tried to reproduce all of this in our project as much as possible.
The developers noted that a lot of work was also done to refine the materials of the glass itself, on which the reticle is displayed, "so that it does not look like something plastic and uniformly transparent."
According to the developers of "Korea. Il-2 Game Series", such small details and nuances helped them achieve "maximum credibility and realistic sensations from looking through the sight, and those blood-stirring moments when you observe the enemy through it."
Players will be able to see three-dimensional and functional models of ten sights at once:
Each of them is made so carefully. For each sight, we collected full documentation and photographs. Of course, in life there may be some other points that are not described in the documentation and that differed even within the same sight model due to imperfections in production and some other circumstances, there may be differences in various parameters. But it is unequivocal that such a level of elaboration of this simulation element has never been seen before.
