Indie MMORPG about life in the futuristic Wild West removed from Steam
The developers failed to attract players' attention to Tombstone MMO.
In late April, the developers of Tombstone MMO announced the imminent closure of its servers.
The project was introduced on Valve's service in 2024 and positioned as an "atypical MMORPG, with events unfolding in a futuristic Wild West":
There are few quests here, your decisions have a significant impact on your character and the surrounding world, and you can explore the game entirely on your own terms. The game has over 20 skills to level up and several development paths, so it effectively adapts to your playstyle — whether you want to go head-on or cleverly bypass obstacles. If the main story doesn't interest you, you can forge your own path in the game. Be it calmly leveling up peaceful skills for profit or battling the most dangerous mutants and technomagical creatures for rare items and glory.
The game did not become a hit: the record peak online of 70 users on Steam was registered more than a year ago, and recently the peak online is 1 player.
Tombstone MMO servers are expected to close on May 5, 2026.
Currently, the "TombstoneMMO - Farmer's Bundle" add-on is still being sold for the game, which includes virtual currency, clothing, and equipment for the character.
