In April, developer Polygonal Illusions presented Aliens: Redacted REDUX. This is a remake of his own shooter. In this version, he did not limit himself to just graphic improvements; many other aspects of the project were also refined.
Some improvements and changes:
- Sprites and textures have been improved
- Improved sound effects and lighting quality "for greater immersion."
- Various improvements have been implemented to enhance gameplay convenience, such as a "target indicator" to make it easier for players to complete side quests
- Players will now be rewarded for completing side quests
- Improved dismemberment mechanics, which not only significantly increases weapon effectiveness but also allows for more brutal combat scenes.
- A tutorial level has been added
- An aiming system has been introduced for more convenient weapon use

The events unfold in 2171:
The prison transport USS Boethiah, owned and operated by the Weyland-Yutani Corporation, sent a distress signal to central command. A riot broke out on board, and the ship was forced to land on LV-059 – a planet of great value to the corporation. Preliminary scans of the planet revealed an ancient abandoned ship with a high probability of xenomorph activity, as well as the potential opportunity to finally capture a specimen for further study.
