The developers of the PvE pirate game Windrose recently shared their plans for the project and boasted about their metrics:
This past weekend saw slightly fewer concurrent players compared to previous ones, but the numbers are still impressive: over 210,000 captains played simultaneously on Sunday! And the number of unique daily players continues to grow. We are incredibly grateful for such activity, and we are currently preparing a small surprise for you.
Currently, the Windrose team is testing an update with technical improvements, which they plan to include:
- Solving various connection issues;
- Reducing CPU usage on servers and clients during idle time;
- Reducing HDD/SSD load during gameplay;
- Improving performance and stability;
- More than 40 new building blocks to fill some gaps;
- More than 50 various fixes and improvements.
After this patch is released, the developers intend to fully switch to the next major update with a new biome, "Ashlands" (the update preparation may take at least 6 months):
We want not just to add content to the game, but also to refine and enrich existing game systems. So it's safe to say that the game will not just grow, but also evolve;
The game's authors also launched Windrose.support — a new support platform through which players can report game bugs, share their ideas, and vote for other community members' ideas. The developers warned that the site itself might be buggy and currently only the English version is available:
This site is brand new, so not everything may work smoothly, and it is currently only available in English. But over time, we will iron out and refine everything. Keep in mind, we will gradually transfer all support from Discord [*] to it, as the process is much faster and more convenient for both players and developers through the website.
