Recently, PlayStation console owners noticed that games purchased in the PS Store have an "expiration date." It was suggested that this is a new DRM system, and if you don't connect to Sony servers at least once every 30 days, game launches will be blocked.
Amidst the discussion of the new "DRM for PlayStation," one user asked support: "Does my game have a 30-day limit if I don't connect to the Internet and don't use the online sharing feature?"
- With "online sharing," console owners can share digital versions of games with other players.
Sony Support explained that players who bought the game themselves and do not use online sharing do not need to connect to the Internet, and there is no "30-day limit" for them:
If you purchased the game and are not using online sharing, the 30-day restriction does not apply to you. You will be able to access and play the game without any restrictions, even if you do not connect to the Internet.
Sony is already being actively criticized online for the "DRM system" on PlayStation. Some users are considering boycotting digital versions.
