A discussion has erupted around the game's key mechanic – camera choice. The project allows players to complete the entire game in either first-person or third-person, which is a rarity for the series.

Game director Akifumi Nakanishi, based on an analysis of player reactions, reported that the majority lean towards a third-person view. The reason is simple – it provides better control over the situation and more convenient orientation in combat, which is especially important in dynamic scenes.

At the same time, the first-person view does not lose out. Many note that it enhances immersion and fear, especially in horror segments. The developers took this into account and created a hybrid system: some scenes are specifically adapted for a particular camera view – horror in first-person, action in third-person.

In Resident Evil Requiem, the system works like this: the player decides what they want more – fear or a chance to survive.
