Recently, a round table was held where Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, the creator of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, spoke. GamesRadar+ quoted his words.
The developer said that he plays everything – he is interested not only in the story but also in the gameplay:
I play everything that's on the market right now. I pay attention not only to the story, but also to the replay loops, to how players interact with the open world.
He specifically highlighted the acclaimed action-RPG Crimson Desert – Tomaszkiewicz noted that it's interesting to play even without a story focus:
I'm playing Crimson Desert and looking at how [Pearl Abyss] approaches freedom from a systems perspective, because it's a different type of game, a different type of RPG, but it's very interesting to play because it shows that you can evoke completely different emotions without relying heavily on the story.
The developer explained that Crimson Desert primarily focuses on world exploration, game systems, RPG mechanics, etc.
Currently, Konrad Tomaszkiewicz is leading the development of The Blood of Dawnwalker. The game is expected to be released in September this year on PC, as well as PS5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.
