The company intends to change its development approach. Previously, rapid feature releases led to technical problems. As part of K2, more stringent tests will be implemented for each update. Internal data shows that in several parameters, including Explorer speed, Windows 11 lags behind Windows 10.

A separate focus is optimization for games. SteamOS has been chosen as a benchmark. Developers expect to match Valve's system in performance, and surpass it within two years.

Users are promised faster file access, lower RAM consumption, and a reduction in reboots to once a month. There will also be an option to install only essential drivers without unnecessary components.

K2 is not a new version of the system, but a set of gradual improvements for the current Windows 11.
