This is not just a simple graphical update – it's a complete reconstruction of the game, taking into account modern standards.
The confirmation came directly from the developers. Creative Director Paul Fu and Director Richard Knight answered player questions in an AMA on Reddit. They debunked rumors about cut content and promised high fidelity to the original.
Players can expect a full set of activities: Edward Kenway will once again hunt sharks and whales, search for underwater treasures, participate in tavern mini-games, and battle legendary ships. All elements will be redesigned from scratch, adding depth and modern mechanics.
The game is being created on a new version of the Anvil engine. Wave physics, controls, and ship damage systems will be updated. Instead of old code, there will be redesigned and optimized mechanics.
Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is scheduled for release on July 9, 2026, for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S.
