Producer Edwin Edso stated in an interview:

I hope [Pragmata] becomes a long-term brand — on par with Monster Hunter, Resident Evil, and Street Fighter. We will do everything in our power to make it happen.

Recall that the game was announced in 2020 for PS5 and was repeatedly postponed. Producer Naoto Oyama explained that the final vision for the gameplay was only formed in 2023. The risk paid off: Pragmata sold 1 million copies in 48 hours and received 96% positive reviews on Steam.

Capcom emphasizes that the project did not try to copy the successes of Resident Evil. The team, which included veterans of Devil May Cry and RE, focused on a new direction.

Will there be a sequel? Edso answers cautiously:

We need to wait a little longer.

In Osaka, Pragmata is clearly no longer considered a one-off project.
