Double Fine has for the first time openly commented on a possible full-fledged Psychonauts remake - and the reaction was unexpectedly positive.
The discussion began on the X platform. One of the players asked about the chances of updating the 2005 classic. The developers' response:
Agreed – that would be incredible, and we'd be very happy to do it... someday.
This is not an official announcement, but such an open stance has become an important signal. The phrase "someday" may indicate that the idea is on the table, and conceptual developments have been discussed within the studio.
The statement coincided with the 21st anniversary of the original, which the series celebrated on April 19. Against the backdrop of Psychonauts 2's success, returning to the first part in an updated form seems like a logical step for Microsoft.
