Recently, the creators of Escape from Tarkov released a new development diary dedicated to the "Lighthouse" map. They decided to explain their approach to player spawn point placement:
Lighthouse differs from other locations in that a significant part of it is occupied by a sewage treatment plant complex controlled by Rogues – and the firing zones of their stationary weapons cover an even larger area than the complex itself. In addition, the sewage treatment plant is one of the main points of interest on the location, where many quests lead and where valuable loot can be found.
Battlestate Games noted that when setting points, it is necessary to consider the peculiarities of the location's geometry, as well as a number of other restrictions:
- Spawns must be evenly distributed across the location and approximately equal to each other in terms of opportunities at the start of a raid;
- Players must not spawn within the Rogues' line of sight;
- Players must not spawn in points immediately vulnerable to other spawns.
The developers of Escape from Tarkov ultimately decided to add PMC spawns in the northern part of the location – in the depot area and the "Northern Checkpoint" exit, and to rework spawns in the rest of the location.
Fans from the VK community "Tarkovskoye Metadvizheniye" have already compiled a map of the updated PMC spawns on "Lighthouse," which can be found at the following link. They noted that players will now be able to spawn in the flooded village, and mountain spawns have been removed.
