Gabe Newell starred in an advertisement for the Leviathan yacht, built at his shipyard - now gamers dream of a mod with the Valve boss for Dave the Diver
It's not a "luxury vessel"; the yacht's creators focused on functionality.
Recently, an advertisement for the Leviathan yacht caught the attention of gamers. The peculiarity of this project is that it was built by Oceanco, a company owned by Gabe Newell.
The Valve boss himself participated in the filming — he appeared on camera in diving gear. Now some players dream of seeing a similar modification with Gabe for Dave the Diver.
Luxury Launches examined the footage from the yacht and reviewed the design solutions. For example, the diving platform creates the impression of a "working platform":
The scene [with the diver] doesn't look staged. It seems procedural and well-oiled, as if repeated several times a day. The open side door reveals a recessed interior space, which apparently serves as a wet room [combined bathroom] or dive support area, with visible storage and hung gear.
The presented footage clearly shows that with this yacht, diving is not an episodic activity — "diving defines the course of the day." Luxury Launches notes that this is consistent with Gabe Newell's description of his daily routine "built around work and multiple dives."

"A pool terrace designed for people, not for show" — the aft deck looks spacious and "originally oriented towards social interaction [communication]."
Luxury Launches drew attention to a feature of its design — the yacht developers wanted to create a sense of openness:
The large central pool serves as the main focal point of the space, flanked by modular seating areas and open walkways that encourage movement and interaction. Glass panels, wide staircases, and a multi-level deck structure create a sense of openness, rather than enclosure or elitism.
After studying these shots, Luxury Launches concluded that the yacht's creators focused on the functionality of its elements, which reflects Gabe Newell's philosophy. On the yacht, people do not separate, but rather interact; its design itself encourages this:
Leviathan is not defined by private luxury or decorative design — its essence is functionality. Every deck, platform, and interior area, it seems, is designed for active use: whether it's diving, training, working, or simply spending time with others on board. In this sense, the yacht reflects its owner as much as its engineering solutions. It is organized around a lifestyle where work and leisure intertwine, where people gather together rather than seclude themselves, and where the ocean is not just a view overboard, but an active part of daily life.
The Leviathan yacht is 111 meters long and is estimated to be worth 500 million dollars.
