Cozy House in WoW for $75 - Fans Outraged by Blizzard's Monetization

In World of Warcraft: Midnight, developers introduced a housing system. Blizzard Entertainment is monetizing it, and some of the company's decisions are unpleasantly surprising players.

Recently, a user named enderrsghost started a discussion in the community – they drew attention to the pricing policy. Developers offered players to buy the "Cozy Treehouse" bundle for 7500 units of Domosteel (approximately $75 when converted to real money).

The bundle includes exterior house finishes – "luxury garden treehouse" and "spring flower treehouse." It also includes a decor set: various garden fences, mushroom tables, luxury garden stable, pots, spring flower pond, spring flower lanterns, tea sets, and more.

Users can also purchase an alternative bundle, "Spring Treehouse Exterior," which costs 4000 Domosteel (approximately $40) and only includes exterior finishes for the house.

Players were unimpressed by both the price tag and the quality of the content – World of Warcraft still has bugs with houses:

$75 and meanwhile the floor in the house is still bugged

Funny. At first I thought, "Oh, cool, I'd pay $7 for this content." But the fact that it costs $75... F*** everyone who pays that much for this.

However, some community members believe that "whales" (large spenders) will buy such content anyway, and a local "boycott" will change nothing.

According to Sea-Apricot-6556, the expansion of monetization will not stop:

They will never have "enough" money because players are already accustomed to being microtransaction-addicted chimpanzees. But seriously: even in today's world of microtransactions, paying a monthly subscription and additionally buying cosmetics for almost $100 is insane.
