Remedy Prepares for a Breakthrough: Max Payne Remakes, New Control, and Another Project
Finnish studio Remedy Entertainment has published its financial report for the first quarter of 2026. The company is confidently moving towards one of the biggest premieres of recent years.
The main focus is on Control Resonant, scheduled for release in 2026. Marketing has already gained momentum: showings at PlayStation State of Play, technology demonstrations with NVIDIA, developer diaries, and participation in Gamescom Latam. Inside the studio, they note growing interest and expect a strong start.
Other projects are also developing in parallel. The Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake, created in collaboration with Rockstar Games, is in full production and generates revenue through development payments. It has also been confirmed that a new unannounced game has moved to the concept validation stage.
The strategy is changing — Remedy is increasingly self-publishing games. This gives more control over the Control and Alan Wake franchises but increases risks. Previously released projects remain a cornerstone: Control has exceeded 6 million copies, and Alan Wake 2 generates royalties, including through Amazon Luna. The online FBC Firebreak, after a major update, has been moved to support mode and is available through subscriptions.
Within the company, 2026 is considered a turning point.
