Recently, Dusk Golem (AestheticGamer), an insider well-known among Resident Evil fans, drew players' attention to the dataminer's findings. It was already known that an entire chapter was cut from the game, and now new details have emerged about the ideas that the developers abandoned.

As it turned out, at a certain stage, the creators of RE Requiem experimented with an investigation mechanic and more — unused data remained in the game files.

For example, tutorial hints for a murder investigation mechanic were found, where players would have to search for the "murder weapon." Mentions of side missions in the style of Resident Evil 4 were also discovered. It was assumed that Leon would also have an injector for collecting blood and could enhance his abilities and craft items.

The dataminer published several screenshots of unused hints and a weapon modification menu on a social network, where a hooded character can be seen. It seems that originally, Resident Evil Requiem planned to reintroduce the mysterious merchant, but this idea was abandoned — the final version uses a vending machine.

Earlier, a modder independently added a merchant to Resident Evil Requiem. For this, he used a ready-made character model from the RE 4 remake.
