In early May 2026, a release took place that greatly surprised collectors. The strategy game R.U.S.E., which was removed from digital services many years ago, returned to sale on PC in Steam. At that time, Ubisoft was the publisher, but now another company is taking on that role.
Now the publisher is Eugen Systems — the development studio that addressed the community and clarified the situation:
While we developed and released R.U.S.E. in 2010, the game was not officially ours. Due to distribution restrictions, in subsequent years we were unable to assist players who contacted us for support or tried to access the game. Recently, we had the opportunity to bring R.U.S.E. back into our catalog. This allowed us to re-release one of the pillars of the RTS genre — with some additional improvements!
R.U.S.E. is a real-time strategy game set in World War II. In it, deception (bluffing mechanics) becomes the main weapon on the path to victory:
Bluffing is at the core of the strategic experience. RUSE cards can be played at any time to conceal maneuvers, mislead the enemy, or gain crucial intelligence.
R.U.S.E. is also sold in Russian Steam. On the black market, the cost of a Steam gift for the game could reach 500-600 dollars (40+ thousand rubles). In the Valve store, the strategy game is priced at 1879 rubles.
The game is compatible with Steam Deck and modern systems. The Definitive Edition includes all previously released add-ons (original owners will not have to pay extra for DLC).
