The authors of the initiative want to ensure that important decisions about digital games are not made without the community's involvement.

Gamers' Voice intends to address not only the issue of game server shutdowns. The organization plans to promote issues of game archive preservation, digital property, loot box regulation, and online safety laws.

Movement founders Tom Shannon and James Baker stated that discussions about streaming restrictions and age verification systems too often occur without consulting gamers. Their goal is to give the community real influence over laws that affect "their wallets and free time."

The organization has begun contacting British politicians from various parties.

The creators of Gamers' Voice stated they have 20 years of experience fighting for digital rights. According to them, past attempts to create similar organizations in the UK failed, leaving gamers unprotected.

One of the organizers of Stop Killing Games, Moritz Kätzner, hinted that the creation of Gamers' Voice is just the beginning, and the movement will soon present "powerful news."
