The mode unlocks after completing the main story campaign and is dedicated to Leon S. Kennedy. It focuses on dynamic battles and clearing waves of enemies under constant time pressure.

Players return to familiar locations but face enhanced enemies and more difficult challenges. Battles have become noticeably more aggressive, and the game's pace is higher than in the main campaign.

Capcom added five difficulty levels and a progression system within the mode. By killing enemies, players gain energy to activate unique abilities available only here. The order of events and the set of upgrades also change, affecting each playthrough.

The developers emphasize that the mode is designed for high replayability and is more like action-survival than a classic expansion.

In addition to new content, Capcom fixed a number of bugs across all platforms. The PC version also received support for DualSense features, including adaptive triggers, haptic feedback, and motion control.
