Grinding Gear Games held a presentation and talked about the "Return of the Ancients" update for Path of Exile 2. This is the biggest update for the game ever.
According to the story, an ancient rogue god breaks free and begins to sow madness throughout Wraeclast. Under the guidance of Doryani, a Vaal sorcerer, it is necessary to find the Forerunners – the creators of the Third Edict. Players will have to reach the fortress and unseal its ancient gates. Inside it will be mechanisms that need to be activated, and new enemies.
The developers will add two Ascendancy classes, dozens of endgame zones, six high-level stories, new supreme bosses, new crafting systems, unique items, and more.
The Monk's Ascendancy "Martial Arts Master" will appear:
After decades of training, the Martial Arts Master has become a master of illusions. Empowered by runes etched onto his body, this class creates powerful illusions, summons spectral bells to aid him, and is exceptionally skilled at wielding his own hands as weapons.
The Huntress's Ascendancy "Spirit Walker":
Bound to the wilds, this class calls upon spirits who answer her will, granting various abilities of the Deer, Owl, or Bear. Under their patronage, the Spirit Walker can even subdue the most vicious beasts by binding their spirit, or summon a spectral companion to fight alongside her.
The Atlas passive skill tree has been reworked: activating special nodes will allow for new combinations.
The release of the Path of Exile 2 "Return of the Ancients" update is expected on May 29; a full description is available at the following link. If nothing changes, the game will leave early access by the end of 2026.
