In early May, CarX Drift Racing Online 2 was released on PC via Steam in "early access" format. This is a new project from CarX Technologies, which previously released the racing game CarX Street.
CarX Drift Racing Online 2 is positioned as a drift simulator with a real competition format and a judging system for modern drift championships:
New realistic physics and tire model are ideal for playing with a steering wheel and other game controllers. To prepare for multiplayer tournaments, you will go from a beginner drifter to a professional pilot competing in world drift series.
The game features a car tuning and customization system. Players will be able to upgrade and fine-tune various parts of the racing car, including suspension, gearbox, and ECU. A car damage system is also implemented, for example, you can knock off a bumper during a super-close transition or leave marks on another racer's door.
CarX Drift Racing Online 2 launched on Steam with "mixed" reviews. Dissatisfied users criticize optimization, crashes, and "dumbest" bots in career mode.
The developers expect the game to remain in Steam Early Access until the end of 2026.
