PC gamers cancel pre-orders for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight and give the game a "black mark" - Denuvo implemented before release
An unexpected decision to protect the PC version has deterred some buyers of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
The release of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is scheduled for May 22. A couple of weeks before the game's launch, the Steam page was updated to include a notification about the use of the infamous protection system:
Third-party DRM: Denuvo Anti-Tamper
There is no information yet about a limited number of daily activations (this is an additional problem for Linux / Steam Deck players – switching the Proton version is considered by the protection system as activating the game on another PC, and with multiple switches, launch is temporarily blocked).
For some PC gamers, this became a red flag, and they announced the cancellation of pre-orders for LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight. Some community members are now calling for a boycott of the game until the developers / publisher remove Denuvo from the PC version.
Previously, hackers showed that the "hypervisor" cracking method allows even the newest games to be cracked on release day, so such a move to implement protection at the last moment raises questions among gamers.
Recently, the developers of LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight published the game's system requirements – including upscaler.
